Local Attractions

The local area has many attractions to visit, including St. Michael's Mount at Penzance, just 10 minutes’s drive from Trewollas and the picturesque port of St. Ives only 15 minutes away. Land’s End is a walk of less than an hour from Trewollas along stunning coastal paths.

The Minack Theatre, just 10 minutes’ drive from Trewollas, is Cornwall’s renowned “theatre under the stars”. The audience nestles amongst the cliffs, with the coastline providing a wonderful backdrop to performances on the stage below. The theatre’s programme of plays, opera and musicals run from May to September.

The Minack’s beautiful sub-tropical gardens cascade down beside the paths to the theatre and are a great example of successful planting in a challenging situation. The gardens, gift shop and café, which has stunning views, are open year-round – there is a modest entry fee, so allow sufficient time to make the most of your visit.

Trewidden Gardens are steeped in history as well as natural beauty. Originally planted in the late 19th Century, the 15 acre garden offers an unforgettable orchestra of colour, particularly during the spring months. Open in spring, summer and early autumn, Trewidden is less than 15 minutes away from Trewollas.

The Eden Project and the enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan nearby make a spectacular day out for the family. Although farther away from Trewollas (about an hour and a half), they are well worth a visit.

On a much smaller scale, the Sculpture Garden at the Barbara Hepworth Museum in St. Ives is very attractive and just 15 minutes from Trewollas.
